Fishbone Motors started several years ago by two friends with the simple intention of purchasing cars for ourselves and our close friends.  Personally, we needed daily drivers and work vehicles, plus our friends in Alaska needed trucks and AWD rigs, so we took the necessary steps to procure our Dealer's License in order to purchase quality wholesale vehicles.  We both also had an interest in promoting green tech as a way to positively impact the environment, so we decided to look into the viability of Electric Vehicles in Alaska. We found a perfect fit and within a year our business pivoted and is now almost exclusively concentrated around promoting and selling EVs. 

 

We secure cars from several different auto makers, but tend to focus on the Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, and Kia Soul EV .  We've found these particular car to be the best "bang for the buck" in the used EV market.  They all have a proven track record, amazing dependability and nearly zero maintenance requirements.  We mainly purchase one-owner, lease-returns directly from the manufacturer and  inspect every vehicle, so you're guaranteed a high quality car every time.  These cars are primarily tracked down in the Seattle area, but occasionally Portland and Northern California as well.  Some are released locally in Washington, but we're hoping to increase EV populations in remote locations, so most are barged to Juneau where they are set loose into the wilds of S.E. Alaska.
